Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 1, 2026

Our Core Commitment: Privacy by Design

At analogclock.org, we believe timekeeping tools should be quiet, functional, and completely free from surveillance. We do not track your browsing habits, build advertising profiles, or monetize your personal attention.

1. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

analogclock.org does not set any cookies on your device. We use neither first-party tracking cookies nor third-party advertising cookies. You will never encounter a cookie consent banner on our site because we do not collect data that requires consent.

2. Local Storage Usage

To enhance your experience, our application uses standard browser `localStorage` to save your instrument settings between visits. Specifically, we store:

  • Your selected dial face preset (such as "Classic" or "Minimal Bauhaus")
  • Your chosen second-hand movement mode ("Sweep" or "Tick")
  • Your preferred color theme ("Light" or "Dark")
  • Your selected location or timezone identifier

This information resides solely within your local web browser. It is never transmitted to our servers, analyzed, or shared with third parties. You can clear this data at any time through your browser's history settings.

3. Server Logs and Network Infrastructure

Like all web servers, our hosting infrastructure automatically registers basic technical request headers (such as IP address, requesting URL, referring page, and browser user-agent) strictly to deliver web assets and defend against denial-of-service attacks. These server access logs are retained on a temporary 7-day rolling schedule and are automatically purged.

4. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

Our educational pages—such as Analog Clock for Kids—are designed for classroom and home educational use. We do not solicit, gather, or store personal information from children under 13 years of age.

5. Contact Inquiries

If you submit a message via our contact form, your name, email address, and message contents are used solely to evaluate and respond to your inquiry. We do not add contact form submissions to marketing distribution lists.

6. Updates to This Policy

Should our architectural data practices change, we will update this document along with the effective date at the top of the page.
